Rotating Car Display Stand - Call at 800-258-9010

Back in the 70’s a comrade of mine, Frank, owned a business called Haulmore Manufacturing and was making flatbed, stake bed, and utility truck bodies for the local dealers of Nissan, Toyota, Ford, and Chevy small trucks. Furthermore he was taking the small trucks and doing body lifts and putting large tires on them. He would put in cloth seats, light bars, grill guards, etc. on them and do elaborate paint jobs on them with flames and designs, etc. Kearny Mesa Toyota was one of his purchasers whom he modified two trucks for every week. Being based right off of Hwy 163 they had high-quality exposure to the traffic. After the interstate department constructed a wall the length of the side of the freeway you could no longer spot them as well. One of the workers asked Frank if he could make a stand, rack, or platform of some kind to raise the truck up so you could see them from the freeway.  After building a platform and setting it up, for the next four weeks the customer said, “I drove down the freeway and you can really see the truck on the stand. A customer came in and said he saw the truck from the road. A customer saw it, came in and bought it off the rack. On the fourth week he said, “You should be building these racks for everyone.” Frank after that took a couple of photos of the platform and went to his other clients and showing them the photos said, “Keep two of my trucks on your location and I will loan you one of these platforms.” Toyota of El Cajon said, “Give me 4 and I will keep eight of your trucks on our lot.” After going to all of his clients and establishing the racks Frank thought that he had taken care of everyone. After effecting the rack and getting it developed, for the four weeks after, a client told Frank that it was great being able to see the cars on the stand from the road. A customer saw the truck from the road and came in and bought it right off the stand! After about four weeks, the lot owner told Frank, “you should be making thses for all dealerships! So Frank took some photos and brought them to his clients.

Then one day in early 1980 I walked into Frank’s company to see him, and as I did the phone rang and the secretary answered and put the person on hold and told me to wait, she would be right back. She returned and said no one was there and the person on the phone wanted to know about the vehicle stands. I did not know all about them but told her I would talk to him. It was someone from Intermountain Volkswagen in Salt Lake City, UT. He said he had seen our vehicle stand while in San Diego and wanted some information about them. I talked to him about how they worked and he said he wanted one so I got his name, address, and phone number. When Frank returned I told him I had talked to a person that had called in and he wanted one of the car stands handing him the note. Frank said, “I’ll pay you for that”, and I said, “Give me the phone.”

To start with it was sluggish as nobody had ever seen these before. I would just send each dealership a few photos of the display stands. I found a dealership in Southern California that liked them, but did not know if they were going to work for him. I told him I would let him use two of them for 30 days. Once the trial period was over, he could either keep them and pay for them, or he could just tell me to get rid of them.

Thirty days later I gave him a phone call and he said, “I have good news and bad news. We require these two and two additional exactly like them.” I said, “OK, what’s the bad news?”, and he asked, “Can we do the same thing with 4 of them at the new Mitsubishi store. I know they want them, they just want 30 days to pay.” I said, “Sure, what’s the bad news?”
Over the years I have had hundreds of customers buy one to try the car platform out and then purchase more. The Chrysler Zone Headquarters in Houston, TX acquired 5 of the car display platforms and put them out at vehicle washes. Having good luck with them they then purchased seventy additional and we shipped them to a mixture of dealers in their zone, some got one, and some two, three, and some four.
One day I received a phone call from a guy in New York that said he saw one of our platforms in San Francisco, CA on his way through and wanted to know if we could ship it to Guam.I said we could and have since shipped them quite a few.
We have shipped our car stands all over the world since then.
Lomas Ford in Mexico City was one of our first out of the country clients for our vehicle display racks. Charlie Auto Sales in Puerto Rico is another good customer buying multiple car racks from us.
Car Centro in El Salvador ordered a spinning vehicle rack from us and liked it so well they acquired 5 additional. Numerous additional firms have ordered one rotating platform from us and then placed added orders for more spinning displays from us.
